Three ways to join copied lines
- Fix PDF breaks tries to rebuild paragraphs, join split words and keep list items. It can misread a paragraph boundary or a real hyphen.
- Keep blank lines joins lines within paragraphs separated by blank lines. Without blank lines, everything becomes one paragraph, including lists.
- Single line replaces all line breaks with spaces. Use it only when you want one continuous line.
Each mode starts from your original text. The result is editable. Undo change restores the previous input and result, including any manual edits. You can use it after changing modes, loading the sample, or clearing the text. Windows and older Mac line endings are normalized; invisible soft hyphens are removed, with soft-hyphen line splits rejoined.
A real PDF example
The sample comes from page 8 of the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, a public-domain US government publication. Its printed line splits subcate- from gories. Fix PDF breaks joins them into subcategories; Keep blank lines leaves subcate- gories. Some PDF viewers already repair this when copying, so your pasted text may differ.
In a November 6, 2026 check, text copied from page 15 using Chromium and Firefox retained four separate bullet items after cleanup with Fix PDF breaks. This is one example, not an accuracy benchmark. In another passage, a continuation starting with an en dash became a separate paragraph. Always compare the result with the original.
What this cannot fix
This tool cleans selectable text you have already copied. It cannot read scanned pages, remove lines drawn on a PDF, reconstruct tables, reorder two-column layouts, or reliably remove page numbers and headers. Do not use it to preserve code, equations or exact formatting. A real compound such as well-known can be mistaken for a split word; paragraph and list boundaries can be wrong. Review names, numbers, punctuation and hyphens.
Copy it, or continue in the reader

Common questions
How can I copy PDF text without unwanted line breaks?
Copy a short passage from your PDF viewer, paste it above and choose a mode. Check the result beside the PDF before copying it into your notes. If the reading order is wrong, return to the PDF and select one column or paragraph at a time.
How do I remove all line breaks?
Choose Single line. It joins every line with spaces and removes paragraph and list boundaries too. Keep your original if those boundaries matter.
Why did my paragraphs merge?
Keep blank lines can only recognize a paragraph boundary when the pasted text includes a blank line. PDF repair guesses from the text and can also be wrong. Restore the previous result with Undo change, try another mode, or edit the result yourself.
