Clean web pages for your AI agent

imread's MCP server hands an agent the article on any page as Markdown, without the menus, scripts and ads that eat its context. Free, no key, no account.

Ask your agent:

Use imread's extract_article tool to read https://simonwillison.net/2025/Jun/16/the-lethal-trifecta/ and tell me the three risks it names.

What the tool hands back, as the agent sees it (the middle cut here):

# The lethal trifecta for AI agents: private data, untrusted content, and external communication

If you are a user of LLM systems that use tools (you can call them “AI agents” if you like) it is _critically_ important that you understand the risk of combining tools with the following three characteristics. Failing to understand this **can let an attacker steal your data**.

The **lethal trifecta** of capabilities is:

[…]

[The article goes on: characters 0 to 917 of 9514 shown. For the next part, ask again with offset=917.]

The last line is how long pages work: they arrive in parts, and the agent asks for the next part with the offset it is given.

The tool

One tool, extract_article. It takes a url, and optionally format (markdown or text), offset and max_chars. It returns the article's title, source and text, with headings, lists, tables, links and code kept in Markdown.

Not using MCP?

The same extraction is one HTTP request; see the REST API docs. Browsers with built-in agents find the tool on imread's pages through WebMCP, and llms.txt maps the site for language models. A walkthrough is on the blog.
